This week on Wednesday was WET AND WILD we went to Waitomo Caves I learned heaps about the caves. Did you know the caves are made of limestone? The glow-worms look beautiful, they look awesome!

Notices for Parents Term 2 2010
We have an exciting term ahead of us this term.
ICT- We are very lucky to have the Smartboard and 6 computers in our classroom. Our focus this term will be on learning how to touch-type and research on the Internet.
TOPIC- This term we are learning about 'Communities in the Living World' with a particular focus on Bees (and then other living things).
WRITING- The children are working VERY hard with their writing and love to share their writing with you so please take the time to look at their writing in their books and in our displays (they are very proud of what they are achieving!). We are working on learning how to show-don't-tell and paint a picture in the reader's head. We are also working hard on building our vocabulary so that we can know and understand a wide range of exciting and 'juicy' words!
READING- We will be reading a range of texts with particular focus on decoding, understanding and making inferences. A number of our texts will be based around our science theme.
MATHS- This term we are focusing on multiplication and division and the number knowledge that comes with these skills. Please help your children to practice and recall their times tables on a regular basis at home.
Have a great term! Feel free to pop into the classroom any time to look at the wonderful things we have been learning.

We Promise To Be Safe Kids By:
1) Only using our FIRST or NICKNAMES when writing.2) Only using SENSIBLE and KIND words.
3) Not writing any of our DETAILS - this includes phone number, address and personal email address.
4) Being careful when putting PHOTOS on (we have permission slips signed by parents).
5) Asking PERMISSION when putting on other people's photos - tell them what you are going to do with the photos.
6) Only displaying nice photos of other people (we don't want people to be embarrassed).
7) Being RESPONSIBLE when using and writing on our blog.
